Conclusion: This research highlights the impacts of rural tourism such as social, economic, and environmental effects that were found to influence the living standards of the local community in Malaysia. Out of 3 independent variables of this research, only 2 has significantly impacted on the living standards of the local community.
Recommendations: Given the potential of rural tourism to contribute to the economic growth of rural communities, the government should collaborate with relevant authorities to significantly expand and improve the rural tourism development by making the proper marketing and promotional plan such as destination marketing.
Research Contributions: The data presented in this study can still be utilized to draw more conclusions, create new types of variables, or serve as a resource for future research on the development of rural tourism for the future study purpose.
Advantage To Whom: The stakeholders
Limitations: Selection bias and time constraint.
Suggestion for future study: May consider to include moderator or mediating variables that could provide substantial impact on living standards of the local community.
